Weekend Smoothie Bowls

Hi everyone! Long time no talk...I am terribly sorry for falling off the face of the earth during the month of August, but now that my wedding is over and the summer has quieted down I am back! I have tons planned for the upcoming weeks and wanted to start my week off with the smoothie bowl I made over the weekend! Usually, I am one to grab a bowl of cereal or a delicious Pure Organic Vegan Bar on a busy morning but on the weekends, I take a little more time to create a healthy smoothie bowl to enjoy with a Pure Organic Vegan Bar.



Over the past few weeks, my life has had little time to settle down. Mark and I celebrated our beautiful wedding, went on our honey moon, and finished out our summer vacations. In the meantime, I also started a new job at a children's toy company! It was the opportunity of a lifetime and I couldn't be happier with the new company I work for. Since life has been so crazy, I have been throwing a few Pure Organic Fruit & Veggie Strips or Pure Organic Ancient Grains Bars in my purse to keep up my energy in my fast paced job.
Since this weekend was the first weekend Mark and I were actually home, I decided to treat myself to a delicious Smoothie Bowl. Smoothie bowls make a great snack or breakfast. I love smoothie bowls for the simple reason that you can add pretty much anything to them and they will taste great! Below you can find how I make my bowl. Typically, I will add chia seeds to my bowl for their nutrition factor and for this bowl I added just a few essentials I always have in my pantry and fridge. I added pineapple chunks, chia seeds, dried cranberries, and oats. You could also add other fresh berries, such as strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries, almonds, or flax seed (another favorite of mine!)

SMOOTHIE BOWL RECIPE



1/4 Almond Milk
1/4 Water
1 Carrot
1 Banana
1 Mandarin Orange
1 cup of mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries)
1 scoop of protein powder (optional)


1. Chop all fruits and veggies and put them in a zip lock bag to freeze over night.
2. Toss all fruits and veggies into your blender along with the almond milk and water and blend until smooth.
3. Put your smoothie mixture into a bowl and top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
