Five Summer Skin Must Haves

Since the weather has felt like we have skipped spring and gone straight into summer this past week I decided to put together my top five summer skin must haves. Skin care has become very important to me over the past few years. In high school and a portion of college I worked at a tanning salon which meant endless amounts of free tanning. If only I knew what I know now about the effects of harmful UV rays on your skin. Needless to say I am very cautious when it comes to my skin now and have put together my favorite products that I live by daily during the summer months below!

1. Hope In A Jar with SPF 25 - Philosophy has been one of my favorites for the past few years. My favorite product by them is the regular Hope In A Jar and when I found out there was a version with SPF 25 in it I ran to Ulta as quickly as possible to pick it up. It is perfect for my combination skin. Usually my skin is dry but becomes oily throughout the day and this product helps to reduce the oil since it absorbs nicely.

2. FRESH Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 - I don't know about you but when the temperature rises I try to wear as little makeup as possible. I love FRESH Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment because it has a nice tint to it but does not feel like you are wearing a heavy lipstick or gloss. Not to mention that it is super moisturizing which is great for summer months when lips can become chapped from the sun. Extra points for the SPF 15!

3. Laura Mercier Mineral Pressed Powder SPF 15 - Pressed powders are great because they help to reduce shine on your skin. I love the Laura Mercier Mineral Pressed Powder because it makes your skin have a matte finish. It also blends extremely well so you have the no makeup - makeup look. Again, there is SPF 15 in it so it gets an A+ for me!

4. Aveeno Active Naturals Aveeno Hydrosport SPF 30 Spray - Of course I had to add my favorite sunscreen onto the list! I love Aveeno for many reasons but I love this sunscreen in particular because it is designed to be applied to wet skin and is sweat and water resistant. Best of all it absorbs fast and is oil free because who really wants to be all oiled up on a hot summer day!

5. St. Ives Apricot Body Scrub - After a day in the sun my skin usually becomes extremely dry. I have found that the best product to exfoliate my dry skin is St. Ives Apricot Body Scrub. I mean there's a reason your mom's favorite skin care secrets have stuck around for decades. It smells amazing and always leaves my skin nice and smooth.
