Engagement Story

When it comes to thinking about spending the rest of my life with my best friend, I couldn't be happier that my best friend is who he is. Over the past seven years we have been through everything from buying our first home, finding the perfect puppy, and beginning new jobs. Since this is a very exciting time for the both of us I decided I would share a little bit into our engagement!

This is how it all went down...

Mark doesn't work on Thursday's so I knew when I got home from work he would already be waiting for me to get home. When I pulled up the first thing I noticed was the flowers in the driveway and the second thing I saw was the "Marry Me?" written in chalk. I was so surprised I couldn't remember how to park my car and then I couldn't seem to get our of my car. The sweetest thing was that my neighbors had waited for me to come home from work to see my reaction, which of course was crying and not being able to talk.

Mark asked if I wanted to go show our families the ring so we went and saw his Dad and my Mom. He then asked if I wanted to go to dinner at our favorite restaurant. When we arrived we were walked into a private room, which I though was strange. When the doors were opened all of our friends were waiting there to surprise me! Of course I started crying again and hugged everyone down the line. As I was walking down the line, my best friend who told me she was working popped out from behind another friend and I immediately started crying even harder. Once we sat down I asked Mark why he didn't suggest I at least brushed my hair because I felt like a terrible mess! After dinner we went out with everyone to celebrate!

It was by far the best night ever and I can't wait to begin planning. I have quite some time as we decided that we wouldn't have our wedding until August 2016. I can't wait to be able to document everything here on my blog so I have something to go back to and remember all of the great events! I hope you will follow along with me!
