Road Race

Over the weekend I ran in the 40th Annual Holyoke St. Patricks Day Road Race with my mom. The event is always such a fun event as spectators line the streets to see their family and friends cross the finish line. The race is a tough one, it is a 10k which is 6.2 miles and it full of hills and since we had a brutal winter, pot holes. Other then dodging all of the pot holes, we had a snow storm on the first day of Spring! Believe it or not, we got about 3 inches of snow the morning of the race!
Since I had an idea of the impending snow storm I made sure I was prepared. I recently picked up a waterproof, insulated jacket from Lululemon which was well worth it! Luckily by start time, the snow had stopped and the sun came out! It was amazing as if St. Patrick was looking down on us and clearing the weather so that we could run without snow! I also got this super cozy Under Armour Half Zip that kept me warm. My Southern Shirt hat kept me from becoming a soaking mess and kept my hair out of my face as I was running. You can order it now on Southern Shirt for 10% off using promo code "MICHELLE10"!  Three days later I am still having a hard time walking from my soreness but I had a great time and can't wait to do it again next year!
