Staying Motivated Past Your New Years Resolution

Staying motivated past your New Years resolution can be tough especially once you get back into the swing of things after the holiday. I wanted to share some of the ways that I am keeping up with my resolutions now that we are almost through with the first month of 2015. Keep following along to find out!

SETTING A LONG TERM GOAL

The goal I decided to set was to run a 10k. Today is my first day of training for an upcoming 10k. I have run 10k races in the past however I have not done one in over one year. I set the goal and signed up but when it really comes down to start training, it can be hard to follow through. Leading up to today I have been running 5 or more miles a week. This was a great way to get started!

SET SHORT TERM GOALS

I decided I would measure my goal to running a 10k by setting short term attainable goals. I have decided to follow a running plan to be ready to run on race day. I set a goal to accomplish each of the workouts each day of the week. See my Week 1 Plan below.

CHECK -IN

One way to help keep yourself accountable is to check in with yourself. There are many different ways to track your progress. Some ways you can keep track is with an app such as the Nike + Running app or with a calendar. I am going to be using the Nike + app. I  have also decided to do a weekly round up here on the blog! I hope you will follow along to help keep track of my progress!
